Introduction

The A1584 power supply is available as either a 5 amp 10 amp or 15 amp unit, all designed to meet EN54-4 specifications. They can be used on a variety of equipment such as Discovery panels and the R3 panels or any application where an EN54 specification power supply is required.

The power supply requires 230 volts AC supply input and provides three separate outputs of 28 volts DC, 5 volts DC and a temperature compensated 27.5 volt DC (float) output for battery charging. The 28 volt output is derived from the DC output of the switchmode power supply, whilst the 5v DC output is derived via a regulator on the A1584 control board. In the event of mains failure, the power supply will automatically change over to the standby batteries. The engineer may enable or disable the earth fault monitoring feature.

The power supply has 9 LED status indicators to indicate what type of fault has occurred on the power supply. The power supply consists of a steel mounting chassis with the A1584 motherboard, a switchmode power supply & a fused mains input terminal block.
